Creation of the Office of Special Counsel

Below you can find the documents creating and empowering the Office of Special Counsel to conduct a review of the November 2020 Election.

In March 2021, the Wisconsin Assembly passed Assembly Resolution 15, which directed the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections to investigate the 2020 elections in Wisconsin. On August 30, 2021, Speaker Vos designated retired Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman as the Special Counsel to form an office and direct an elections integrity investigation, assist the Campaigns and Elections Committee, and hire investigators and other staff to assist in the investigation.
